more spring cleaning of the itunes

This one is going to be about little gems I've found in my music that I think are amazing and had forgotten about until just now...when I almost deleted the said song. :P

Song: Hands Open
Artist: Snow Patrol
Album: Eyes Open

This was my favorite song on their latest(?) album. Chasing Cars got a TON of play on the radio and was the most popular of the album, but really...I thought that song was kinda meh and made me think of crazy spaz dogs. Sorry folks, Hands Open is soooo much better. The End...

Song: Funky Dudley
Artist: Dudley Perkins
Album: Expressions (2012 A.U.)

Woah, woah, woah woah. This song is fun. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.* I think I picked this one up in a free itunes sampler download back in the day where they would give out free music codes to their facebook groupies. I suggest this code thing returns. People need to hear songs like Funky Dudley....serious.

Song: Young Pilgrams
Artist: The Shins
Album: Shutes Too Narrow

For whatever reason, when I listen to The Shins, I think of riding one of those old fashioned bikes down some dirt farming time road in the summer. I think it might be because I started listening to them while I lived in Idaho....and frequently rode a bike down dirt farming roads....in the summer....maybe. Anyways, good times and really chill music. Give it a listen and try out my favorite of theirs (New Slang) while you are at it.

Song: The Way I Are (Feat. Keri Hilson & D.O.E.)
Artist: Timbaland
Album: Presents: Shock Value

Okay. So I'm kind of embarassed....but I loved this song when it came out and I probably love it more today. Timbaland is amazing and this is one of the first songs I remember hearing of his. Its all poppy and that, but to me it really is a genuine sappy song. Sorry, I'll move on now.

Song: Another One Goes By
Artist: The Walkmen
Album: A Hundred Miles Off

Ok, another one I found from the facebook free itunes samplers. I later downloaded the entire album (see itunes? More freebies=more money). This is ....how to explain it....it reminds me a lot of a song called Postcards From Italy. Kind of an older feel with a folky twist? But not hick folky....more euro folky. That makes no sense, does it? ah well. I tried.

Song: For Us
Artist: Pete Yorn
Album: Nightcrawler (Bonus Track)

I first heard this song...well...when I saw the video on vh1's super late music video set. I was working graveyards and had access to a TV while I did my work. I think the video had some bird in it that fell in love with the singer or something. I remember thinking how weird it was, but then when I heard the song without having to stare at the video at the same time, I decided it was actually really good.

Thats all for tonight!

*Listen to song on playlist or something and you will understand. ;)
